Ville de Gatineau
Confirmation of a case of COVID-19 at the Hull service centre
Gatineau, October 1, 2020. – Ville de Gatineau is confirming that one of the employees at its Hull service centre tested positive for COVID-19 on September 30, 2020. The risk of contamination is considered low. As soon as it was informed, Gatineau started working closely with the public health authorities for the Outaouais and applying their recommendations and the prescribed sanitary measures. In addition, Gatineau decided to put three of its employees who had been in contact with that person in preventive isolation. The Service de l'urbanisme et du développement durable desk has been closed for a thorough cleaning. The general service centre desk and the Service des loisirs, des sports et du développement des communautés desk remain open.
The person who tested positive for COVID-19 last worked at the service centre on September 24.
Only three co-workers had contact with that person after September 24.
Since the municipal service centres re-opened, Gatineau has introduced and followed a series of measures to reduce the risk of propagation: - physical distancing between employees and the public; - procedure masks worn by employees at all times; - work stations cleaned at least two to three times a day; and - questionnaire filled out by employees every day to assess their health status.
Residents are encouraged to apply for permits online.
