Winter is magical at the Snowflake Kingdom!

Gatineau, December 11, 2019. – From January 31 to February 17, 2020, kids of all ages will get to experience the magic of winter at Winterlude's Snowflake Kingdom! As is the case every year, admission to the most popular family winter event is free!

At a glance

The event will take place at its usual location, at Jacques-Cartier Park.
Magician Daniel Coutu, highly popular with kids and parents, will be the spokesperson for the third year in a row.
Every year, 200,000 visitors on average take part in the activities at Winterlude's Snowflake Kingdom.

Snowflake Kingdom classics

The Kingdom's famous slides will be back! Regular visitors will be happy to find the Iceberg, the Glacier and the Chinook, with a total of 15 sliding corridors.
Magnificent sculptures will adorn the site.
The giant zip line will give thrill-seekers the chance to fly over a part of the Snowflake Kingdom site. Please note that there is a charge for this activity.
Kids and adults looking for a challenge will enjoy the obstacle course.
Kids aged 5 to 8 will have a chance to be introduced to downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Giant versions of some local favourite board games will promise some big laughs with Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect 4, snakes and ladders and many more free games.
The Zone Bouts de chou will have play structures for the little ones.
There will be shows and buskers throughout the site.
And of course, the Ice Hog family will be on hand! Mama, Papa, Noumi and Nouma will take up residence at the Snowflake Kingdom, giving out hugs all around!
Visitors will be able to warm up around the wood stoves set up around the site.

The Snowflake Kingdom

The Snowflake Kingdom is an annual get-together and the highlight of winter for many Gatineau and Ottawa families.
As always, there will be a free shuttle bus to ferry visitors among the different Winterlude destinations. The OLG Sno-Bus schedule will soon be posted on www.sto.ca.
More than a quarter of the 200,000 visitors come from outside the National Capital Region.
An event of this kind is only possible thanks to the many local volunteers.
Ville de Gatineau and Canadian Heritage co-produce the Snowflake Kingdom.
This will be the 42nd year that Gatineau hosts the Snowflake Kingdom.
