Upcoming work – Preventive boil water advisory and water supply interruption in the Gatineau sector
Gatineau, April 14, 2022. – Ville de Gatineau is notifying residents of upcoming repairs to a watermain in the Gatineau sector, starting at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19. As a result, Gatineau will issue a preventive boil water advisory for some 15,000 residences in part of the sector. The advisory will be in effect from 11 p.m. on April 19 until it is lifted.

There will be a drop in water pressure or an interruption in the water supply, depending on the perimeter in question (see map below). - The residences affected by the advisory are located between montée Paiement and avenue du Cheval-Blanc, highway 50 and Rivière des Outaouais.

Rue St-Louis will be closed to traffic between boulevard Maloney and rue Jacques Cartier.

There will be a detour in place via boulevard Maloney and boulevard de la Cité. It will come into effect at 8 p.m. on April 19.

The public is invited to register for the notification system to receive boil water advisories notices by: - Email; - Telephone; - Text message.

If you are in the area affected by the boil water advisory

All residents and institutions in that area must boil their water for one minute before consuming it.
●
They must continue to do so until Gatineau lifts the preventive boil water advisory.
●
After the preventive boil water advisory is lifted: - Open all cold water taps and let the water run for one minute or until it is cold before consuming it. The same applies to water fountains. -Discard any ice that was made with tap water while the advisory was in effect.
