Calling on residents to lend a hand in filling sandbags

Gatineau, April 18, 2019. – Gatineau will hold a solidarity blitz tomorrow, Friday, April 19, to help fill sandbags.


Faits en bref

Residents are invited to go to aréna Beaudry, at 23 rue Saint-Alexandre, in the Gatineau sector, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- No registration is required.
- Parking will be available in the neighbouring streets and at École Massé, at 1 rue Saint-Alexandre.
The solidarity blitz will involve filling sandbags.
- Municipal crews will be on hand to coordinate the logistics.
- Instructions will be provided on site by identified staff.
- Gatineau will provide water to the volunteers throughout the day.
Volunteers are asked to wear boots or closed shoes, and to bring:
- a shovel; and
- gloves.
For logistical reasons and in recognition of food allergies, we ask that no food or drinks be handed out at the site. Gatineau will provide water to the volunteers throughout the day.
For safety reasons, children will not be permitted on the site.
Gatineau thanks residents for their availability. Their assistance is invaluable, and their commitment is inspiring.
