Update on flooding: As the weekend approaches, Gatineau remains vigilant
Gatineau, May 2, 2025. – According to the latest update by the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board (ORRPB), high-water projections remain lower than in 2023. They have been adjusted slightly downwards since the initial projections, and water levels are rising more slowly than initially projected, but the situation may persist for several more days next week. The numbers have been fluctuating all week, but municipal crews remain on standby and ready to intervene at a moment's notice.
As the weekend approaches, Gatineau reminds residents to remain vigilant and prepared to ensure their safety and protect their property. The ORRPB website (ottawariver.ca/forecasts) provides daily updates. Please report any issues to the non-emergency call centre at 3-1-1.
