Boil water advisory for the Gatineau sector: watermain valve chamber rehabilitation
Gatineau, May 6, 2015. – Gatineau is issuing a boil water advisory for the Gatineau sector (rue Main). This advisory will be in effect starting at 4 a.m. on Thursday, May 7. The rehabilitation of the watermain valve chamber will extend from end of day Wednesday, May 6 until May 7. This work will also result in street closures, which will have an impact on road traffic starting around 7 p.m. on May 6.

Residents in the sector may notice a significant drop in water pressure and discoloration of their tap water as a result of the work.
●
As of 4 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, residents will have to boil their tap water for one minute before consuming it.
●
Also, residents will be expected to reduce the amount of tap water consumed before the work begins and while it is underway.
●
Gatineau will notify residents as soon as the boil water advisory has been lifted.
●
The rehabilitation work on the watermain should be completed in the early part of Thursday, May 7.
●
Access to a valve chamber helps control the water supply in the system.

Corner of rue Main and boulevard St-René (east and west): detour through rue Royal-Brassard, rue Duquette and rue Raymond.
●
Corner of rue Main and rue Hillcrest: detour through boulevard Labrosse or rue Lafrance.
●
Rue Main between Hillcrest and boulevard St-René: detour through rue Magnus (east or west).
