Winter pleasures for everyone at the new Snowflake Kingdom site!

Gatineau, January 15, 2018. – This year once again, visitors will get to discover, appreciate and take full advantage of winter pleasures at the Snowflake Kingdom! From February 2 to 19, we look forward to welcoming kids of all ages at the new site, which is located at the northernmost tip of Jacques-Cartier Park. Just a reminder that it's free admission for everyone!

At a glance

Winter pleasures await you!

The famous slides for which the Snowflake Kingdom is so well known will be back! All three slides, the Iceberg, the Glacier and the Chinook, will be gathered into one huge snow structure at the centre of the site.
Kids aged 5 to 8 can get a taste of downhill skiing or snowboarding at the brand new snow park.
Dogsled rides will be available on the weekends (there is a fee).
Visitors will get to gather around outdoor fire pits to warm up and enjoy the beautiful view of the Rideau Falls.
A brand new interactive digital artwork will light up the site on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Obstacle courses will provide a fun challenge to kids of all ages.
There will be giant versions of Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect 4 and other favourite family games!
Extreme aerial and trampo-wall acrobatics will be back and as impressive as ever!
Performers will bring their shows and other entertainment to you throughout the grounds.
The magnificent snow sculptures will be on display, as well as a giant 2D fresco on the slides structure.
And of course, the Ice Hog family will be there! Mama, Papa, Noumi and Nouma, will have settled into the Snowflake Kingdom, ready to hand out lots and lots of hugs!
Be sure to bring your camera for those ever-popular snow silhouette shots and other memorable moments!

The Snowflake Kingdom is moving!

For the 2018 edition, the Snowflake Kingdom will move to the northernmost tip of Jacques-Cartier Park.
- The new site is about 650 metres north of the former site.
The move is temporary, and is due to the Mosaïvernales event organized by Mosaïcultures internationales de Montréal.
Shuttles will be on hand for the convenience of visitors.

Snowflake Kingdom

The Snowflake Kingdom is an annual get-together to mark the height of the winter season for many Gatineau families.
The 2018 Snowflake Kingdom program lineup was designed around the theme of “Winter pleasures”.
The Snowflake Kingdom is one of the three official Winterlude sites.
Ville de Gatineau is co-producing the Snowflake Kingdom with Canadian Heritage.
Gatineau is welcoming the Snowflake Kingdom for the 40th year.
An average of 200,000 people visit the site every year.
The event would not be possible without the numerous local volunteers.
