Ville de Gatineau
Confirmation of a case of COVID-19 at Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Center
Gatineau, October 8, 2020. – Ville de Gatineau is confirming that one of the employees at its Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Center tested positive for COVID-19 on October 8, 2020. As soon as it was informed, the city opted for a prudent approach by implementing preventive measures that went beyond the recommendations of the Direction de la santé publique de l'Outaouais. As a result, the employee remains isolated. The sanitary measures implemented and respected by all employees have allowed the Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Center to remain open.
The person who tested positive for COVID-19 last worked at the aquatic center on October 5.
Since the municipal water basins re-opened, Gatineau has introduced and followed a series of measures to reduce the risk of propagation: - physical distancing between employees and the public; - procedure masks worn by employees; - site cleaned at least two to three times a day; and - questionnaire filled out by employees every day to assess their health status.
The City works collaboratively and continuously monitors the situation with its health system partners.
As recommended by the Government of Quebec, anyone experiencing symptoms or having questions about COVID-19 is invited to contact 1 877 644-4545.
