Confirmation of a case of COVID-19 at Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Center
Gatineau, October 8, 2020. – Ville de Gatineau is confirming that one of the employees at its Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Center tested positive for COVID-19 on October 8, 2020. As soon as it was informed, the city opted for a prudent approach by implementing preventive measures that went beyond the recommendations of the Direction de la santé publique de l'Outaouais. As a result, the employee remains isolated. The sanitary measures implemented and respected by all employees have allowed the Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Center to remain open.

The person who tested positive for COVID-19 last worked at the aquatic center on October 5.

Since the municipal water basins re-opened, Gatineau has introduced and followed a series of measures to reduce the risk of propagation: - physical distancing between employees and the public; - procedure masks worn by employees; - site cleaned at least two to three times a day; and - questionnaire filled out by employees every day to assess their health status.

The City works collaboratively and continuously monitors the situation with its health system partners.
