Preventive boil advisory for part of Gatineau sector

Gatineau April 15th, 2022, 7:30 pm – Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for approximatively 1 200 residences for part of the Gatineau sector north of Highway 50 between Labrosse and Lorrain boulevards. The area affected by the boil water advisory can be viewed at the end of this release.


Quick facts

The advisory is in effect from now until it is lifted.
This advisory is in response to a drop in water pressure in the area.
The public is invited to register for the notification system to receive boil water advisories notices by:
- Email;
- Telephone;
- Text message.

If you are in the area affected by the boil water advisory

All residents and institutions in that area must boil their water for one minute before consuming it.
They must continue to do so until Gatineau lifts the preventive boil water advisory.
After the preventive boil water advisory is lifted:
- Open all cold water taps and let the water run for one minute or until it is cold before consuming it. The same applies to water fountains.
- Discard any ice that was made with tap water while the advisory was in effect.
