Preventive boil water advisory for part of Gatineau sector
Gatineau, March 21, 2023. - Ville de Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for approximately 35 000 users in the Gatineau sector. This preventive boil water advisory is being issued because of a water main break on rue Main, between Racine and Hupé streets. The advisory will remain in effect until lifted.
Perimeter of the boil advisory

Affected residences are located: - South of Autoroute 50; - West of Avenue du Cheval-Blanc; - North of the rivière des Outaouais; - East of Montée Paiement.
Expanded perimeter (water reduction request)

The City has also released a notice advising the public in the area that there may be a drop in pressure or a lack of water supply. People living in the expanded area (see map below) are invited to reduce their water consumption. It is suggested to limit laundry, baths or showers as well as the use of the dishwasher until further notice.
If you are in the area affected by the preventive boil water advisory

Affected individuals and establishments will be required to boil their water for one minute before consumption until the advisory is lifted.

After the precautionary boil water advisory is lifted, you will need to: - Open all cold water faucets and let the water run for one minute or until it becomes cold before using it. The same should be done for water fountains; - Discard any ice that was made with the water while the advisory was in effect; - For more information: gatineau.ca or 311.
