SPVG Front Desk Services Reopen

Gatineau, July 2nd, 2020. – The Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) is announcing the reopening of its service desks in the Gatineau and Hull sectors, as well as its points of service in the Aylmer and Buckingham sectors as of today, according to their usual summer schedules. The parking, school crossing guard and animal control units are also reopening, with access by appointment only.

At a glance:

The SPVG is gradually restoring services to residents starting today at its stations and points of service.
Administrative staff are on hand at the four police stations during regular summer office hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m
Outside office hours, the public can use the phone outside to access police services:

- at the Aylmer and Buckingham stations, an emergency call centre agent will take the call and assess the request;
- at the Hull station, a police officer will be on site from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and
- at the Gatineau station, a police officer will be on site 24 hours a day.
Special measures will be taken to protect the health of the public and staff in accordance with the provincial government's instructions. The service desks will follow the physical distancing and hygiene measures recommended by Santé publique.
In order to minimize the need for residents to leave their homes, complaints will continue to be taken over the phone by police officers, and the SPVG recommends this approach.
The SPVG recommends that the public submit police reports online for non-emergency incidents. Certain conditions apply.
The public can access the parking, school crossing guard and animal control units by appointment only. Call 819-595-7860 between 8:30 a.m. and noon or between 1 and 3 p.m.

Physical distancing and hygiene measures:

Hand sanitizer will be available to the public at the entrances, and its use is mandatory.
Markers spaced two (2) metres apart on the floor show visitors the safe distances they must maintain in SPVG facilities.
Visitors may not be accompanied in the station (other than by a child or a witness).
A limited number of people will be allowed into the station at any given time.
