The use of fireworks in Gatineau without a permit is prohibited. Only a master fireworks technician, with a valid trade certification and a permit application made 30 days before the event can obtain authorization from the Service de sécurité incendie.

Certain conditions apply. For information about getting a permit, contact an inspector with the Service de sécurité incendie by calling 311.

The permit is free.

Please note that fireworks are regulated under the federal Explosives Act and Regulations, which are administered by Natural Resources Canada's Explosives Regulatory Division (ERD). Gatineau inspectors issue permits pursuant to by-law 774-2015 and the federal legislation.
