Sewer backups and water infiltration

Gatineau inspects and maintains its sewer systems (storm and sanitary) in good condition. However, the municipal infrastructures were not designed to capture exceptional volumes of rainfall.

As a resident, there are certain things you can do to protect your basement from damage due to backups.
