On June 1, 2022, An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec (the “Act”) received Royal Assent, setting out new obligations for public organizations. The coming into effect of some of the Act's provisions was deferred to June 1, 2023.
Thus, pursuant to those provisions, and as of that date, Ville de Gatineau will stop translating the Agendas of the Municipal Council.
Recognized for its quality of life, Gatineau is a city of 292,000 inhabitants. It is located on the north shore of the Ottawa River, and extends east and west of the Gatineau River.
