Flood update, April 20, 5:15 pm: Approximately one hundred additional properties could be affected
Gatineau, April 20, 2026. – Just before 5 p.m., the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board (ORRPB) released its latest forecasts. The water level projections have been revised upwards.
As a result, another hundred properties in the already affected sectors are at risk of flooding by Wednesday's projected peak. Starting this evening, those property owners will be visited by SSIG representatives and advised to prepare. They will be encouraged to start building their dykes as soon as possible to protect their homes.
The sandbag distribution sites are open 24 hours a day.
