TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES AND CHANGES TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS FOR THE 2012 WINTERLUDE

Gatineau, February 1, 2012. – For the 34th edition of Winterlude at the Snowflake Kingdom, from February 3 to 20, Gatineau will temporarily close certain streets and change the parking restrictions in the neighbourhood next to Jacques-Cartier park in the Hull sector.

Weekday Schedule

The portion of rue Laurier between Saint-Étienne and de Verdun will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.:

• Mondays, February 6 and 13, 2012
• Thursdays, February 9 and 16, 2012
• Fridays, February 3, 10 and 17, 2012

In addition, on those days and at those times there will be no parking in the following areas:

• rue de Verdun, between Notre-Dame-de-l'Île and Laurier
• rue Saint-Étienne, between Notre-Dame-de-l'Île and Laurier

Weekend Schedule

Rue Laurier between boulevard des Allumettières and rue de Verdun, and the portion of rue Saint-Étienne between Notre-Dame-de-l'Île and Laurier will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.:

• Saturdays, February 4, 11 and 18, 2012
• Sundays, February 5, 12 and 19, 2012
• Monday, February 20, 2012

The streets will remain open to local traffic for residents living on the closed portions as long as they have their driver's licence.

For a map of the affected streets, check www.gatineau.ca/baldeneige. We ask that motorists heed the temporary signs and parking restrictions. We encourage festival-goers to use active and collective transportation modes for Winterlude.
