Accès Gatineau card

Available at the Gatineau public library service points, the Accès Gatineau card is good for one year. The card comes in two versions, and is designed to fit your needs:

Accès Gatineau card (free)

AccessibilitéThe Accès Gatineau card is free for all residents, and offers the following privileges:

  • Access to the library's services
    Delve into the library's collection of over 650,000 books, comic books, bestsellers, DVDs, ebooks, online ressources, magazines and much, much more.   The library also offers activities for younger car holders and programs for adults and seniors.
  • Access to online registration for cultural and recreational activities and reservations of arenas and playing fields
    You will need a valid Accès Gatineau card to use our registration website.

Three free visits to the ecocentres per civil year

Access limited to Gatineau residents 18 years of age or older who have an Accès Gatineau + card.

1 “Family” here means one or two adults with one or more children aged 24 years or less living at the same
address. At the time of registration, the children aged 18 to 24 years must present their student card or
proof of registration in a recognized educational institution.
2 The card is free for income security recipients upon presentation of their claim booklet.
3 Individuals whose gross annual income is less than $40,000 must present their federal or provincial notice
of assessment.
4 Requires presentation of a part-time or full-time student card or proof of registration in a recognized
educational institution.

To obtain ou renew an Accès Gatineau card

Go to one of the Gatineau public library service points, with valid ID and proof of residence.

To renew a subscription, you must have your Accès Gatineau card in hand. Also, you must confirm your address by providing proof of residence and pay off any balance showing on your record.

  • Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) card
  • Canadian Forces ID card
  • Birth certificate (babies only)
  • Baptism certificate (babies only)

Acceptable proof of residence

  • Driver's licence
  • Recent telephone, electricity, gas or other bill (issued within the last three months)
  • Notice of school or municipal taxes (the latest one)
  • Recent bank account or credit card statement (issued within the last three months)
  • Lease, real estate transaction contract, mortgage agreement or insurance policy (within the last year)
  • School report card or official correspondence from an educational institution (current session)
  • Copy of an electronic student record
  • Student card with address
  • Cheque or employer's pay stub
  • Income tax notice of assessment or T4 statement (the latest one)
  • Confirmation of permanent residence issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
  • Any other official government document

Note: Hospital cards are not accepted as proof of residence.
